BOLD participates in the WHO Symposium on Modelling and Optimizing the Health and Care Workforce: Keys and Learnings

Copenhagen welcomed us on April 28th, 29th and 30th to take part of the WHO Symposium on modelling and optimizing the health and care workforce.

The meeting organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) brought together more than 200 leading experts and benchmarks to discuss the new challenges and improvement trends in strategic planning for talent in healthcare.

The symposium focused on addressing the current and future challenges associated with what is known as workforce management in the healthcare environment, highlighting the importance of strategic planning, performance optimization and investment in the development of digital competencies.

Under the theme“Looking to the Future”, the presentations focused on the need to incorporate new initiatives and effective approaches that contribute to strengthening the healthcare model, providing it with the necessary capacity to respond to the new demands and needs of patients.

These are the reflections we gathered on the transformation of care:

  • It is essential to take care of those who take care of us. The well-being of professionals must be facilitated to avoid talent drain and burnout. And that can only be achieved by listening to their needs and responding to them from a professional, realistic and conciliatory approach to their own objectives.
  • When we analyze new social trends such as the aging of the population and the improvement in the quality of life, the need to rethink the organization of care becomes evident. This implies adopting an integral vision that contemplates both the health and social spheres, especially focused on the elderly.
  • One of the slogans we continually heard during the presentations is Right Care at the right place at the right time.. Care must be provided in the right way, at the right place and at the right time, as this aligns care with people’s real needs, increasing the effectiveness of healthcare professionals and strengthening the humanization of care.

What do we take away to continue innovating with BOLD WorkPlanner?

  • There is a need for nursing team managers to consider measures to improve efficiency by reducing the time spent on administrative tasks with less value or reversible through other more direct methodologies.
  • Today’s healthcare requires multidisciplinary teams capable of addressing patients’ needs from a holistic perspective. This implies working in a coordinated and unified manner among different professional profiles, which in turn requires new forms of organization and transmission.
  • The application of technology must be facilitated to improve the efficiency and optimization of human resources for healthcare teams. Transparency, organization and focus are essential to achieve a more agile service, with fewer errors and greater productivity.
  • Artificial intelligence applied to healthcare can significantly improve the quality of care and diagnosis, and can even represent an integral system that values all the variables of the professionals, but the humanization of care will continue to be an irreplaceable task for people and an essential element for truly complete care.

The symposium reinforced a key idea: caring for caregivers involves planning, innovation and humanization. At BOLD, we will continue to focus on solutions that connect data, efficiency and professional well-being to meet the current and future challenges of the healthcare system. And that is why we thank WHO for creating spaces like this, which inspire us to continue innovating from people-centered solutions.
